About Leigh-Anne Lawrence
I’m Leigh-Anne!
I am a Registered Psychologist, specializing in the treatment of anxiety, self-worth, and trauma.
Born and raised in Calgary, I pursued my passion for psychology by completing my Master’s Degree in Counselling from City University of Seattle, and I am a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists, the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta, and the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
My interest in mental health began during my undergraduate degree, where I volunteered on and off campus in mental health campaigns, working with youth, and educating in a variety of institutions on stress management.
In my practice, I believe that self-awareness is key to bringing change. When working together, my clients build insight to:
Identify unhelpful thinking and coping strategies
Work through negative self-talk
Explore past traumas that created wounds and adaptive behaviours
Recognize troublesome patterns and communication styles
Re-define their relationship with themself
I help clients heal from these challenges and change their behaviour to reflect self-compassion and acceptance. My approach integrates therapeutic tools to meet clients where they're at and tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs. Working collaboratively with my clients, I identify goals and provide a safe space, free of judgement.
